Last thursday I was having a lecture on Sex, Drugs and Rock n Roll. The lecturer showed us videos on the A&E wards in the hospitals during the nights over the weekends. It was mainly on teenagers getting drunk and got hurt. Some of the scenes were terrifying. However, people were laughing at some of the scenes when they did silly things because they were drunk. But I felt like crying when I saw that. I was thinking to myself: How can people laugh?(I have to admit that it was funny.) Do you know that God's heart is breaking? God's heart is breaking over and over again. I wonder whether it would actually stop...

Then, last friday in Kairos. We watched a DVD on the truth behind hip hop. My eyes were opened on how the devil has been destroying the lives of so many young people through music. Not only in the world out there, but also in the church. How scary is that?! These lives that are so precious to God and they have so much potential in them. But the evil one wants to steal, kill and destroy them. He is always waiting and see who he can devour. He knows that young people can do great things and he wants to stop them from doing it.

So, young people of this generation. Let's not be ignorant and waste our lives anymore. Unleash the potential that God has placed in you and do it unto His Glory. Time is running out! Let's live our lives pleasing to Him and do His Will.

In the middle of the night, I was woken up by people screaming, laughing, shouting from outside my window. They sounded like they were drunk and I think they were girls. The first feeling I had wasn't the annoyed and angry feeling, but it was sadness. These people waste their life drinking and getting drunk. I thought to myself, God must be feeling very sad and He might even teared. There are so many people out there who do not know God or just do not want to have anything to do with Him. It breaks my heart and definitely His too. =(

21st Birthday!!

It's my 21st birthday!!! The so-called most important birthday of a person's life because it means freedom and responsibility. An age when you are an adult and no more a teenager or a child. An age when you are legal to do most of the things like going to casinos!! Haha!! Hmm.. Talking about casino, I suddenly remembered that Isaac actually said he will bring me to a casino in London when I am 21... Hmm.. Looks like both of us have completely forgotten about it!! Haha!!

Well, it is the most important birthday but I am away from home, family, friends. And it is my first birthday in the UK. So, it is equivalent to not a good birthday.. Why? No familiar friends to celebrate with me and have a big PARTY! People wished me a great birthday in UK (as it is my 1st time). But in me I was, "yeah.. yeah.. how is that supposed to happened? I am in UK, not Malaysia." But I told myself to look at it in a different perspective.

All in all, I actually had a GREAT birthday! Because God celebrated my birthday with me! =D. It was the best birthday ever, after so long! I am truly thankful!

Christmas and New Year

Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year everyone!! (Although it is a bit late) Hehe...=)

It's my first time spending Christmas and New Year away from family, friends and all the familiarities. I view it as an experience, challenge, training and a process of growing up.

On Christmas eve, Isaac cooked and we invited a few church friends to have dinner with us. It was fun and enjoyable. Especially the food(DELICIOUSloh!!) and the company of friends. On Christmas day, I went to the pastors' house for a Christmas meal and fellowship. Really thank them for all the nice food and the invitation. At least I got to celebrate Christmas with people. And not forgetting all those presents I received! Never thought I would receive so many of them. On boxing day, I went to a family friend's house, it was good! All the chinese food that has been prepared was just awesome!

After that, I went for a Christian Conference. It was over the new year. Spending the new year with Malaysians was great! This conference was truly enriching and the fellowship with fellow Malaysian was wonderful! Haven't seen so many Malaysians for a long long time. Being able to speak in the Malaysian way of speaking was just great!! God has also revealed things to me in this conference and I really thank Him for that. First time taking train to Reading and meeting Esther there was indeed a great experience too! =)

All in all, I have to be honest that it was not as good as being back home spending these moments with friends and family. But, it's a good opportunity to learn.

Besides that, it was the first time ever that I want holidays to end quickly so that I can start lectures soon. Thank God for short holidays!!! =) Haha!!

Finally I see snow!!!! After 20 years of my life!! It was a great experience walking in the snow. It was something I wanted to experience and see in the UK. And I finally saw it! In december!! God is so great! He knows that I wanted to see snow and He granted me that request. It is just so amazing because people have been telling me that snow is very rare in London. BUT.. I SAW IT TODAY! And it is not even february yet. Thank You, Lord! Thanks for showing me that you care for me, even my little little requests seem so important to You. Thank You for Your grace.. I will never forget today=)

You can do it, my brothers and sisters in Christ!

Our God is a Healer!

I was sick yesterday.. But after praying.. Miraculously!! I was healed! Not sick anymore! Don't even need to see a doctor! All set for my trip to UK! Woo hoo!!..

After recovering from our sickness, there are two things that we gain. A stronger body against the viruses and bacteria. Also, increases our faith in God. =)

I caught myself thinking : Why care for people when they don't appreciate your care? Worse still, when they don't even bother that you care. But then again, caring and loving others should not expect anything in return.

Loving and caring for people is what i really like doing. It's like a passion. A passion that burns inside me, that makes me feel happy when someone feels cared for, sometimes even making me cry. Although I have failed many times and it is difficult, but having this passion is something that i really thank God for. I hope and pray that He will enlarge my heart to love and care. That I will love and care like how He does. And that this passion will never die.

Lord, I look to You for strength.

Results From UPSR till STPM

Looking back at my results taking experiences throughout all these years. I am truly grateful that God has bring me this far. He helped me grow in the area of rejoicing and giving thanks in all circumstances.

UPSR :
5A, 1B, 1C
I was super worried when I went to get my results.
I was like : God! Why did you give me these kind of results? Headmaster, teachers, friends and myself have put a lot of expectations on me. They think that I would surely get straight 'A's. But I did not get the results people wanted me to get. The worst thing is the B and C are my Bahasa Malaysia papers and I always score A for those two papers. I was sad because back then, all I focused on was the B and C that i got. Not the 5'A's that God has graciously given to me.

PMR :
8A
I was worried when I went to take my results.
I was overjoyed! I got straight 'A's. It was easy to praise God and give Him thanks. But I know I have not really been tested in character.

SPM :
8A, 2B, 1C
I wasn't very worried but i couldn't smile when I went to get my results. Too nervous.
It was during this period that I know the lesson that I have been hearing all this while, which is giving thanks to God in all circumstances will be tested if I really am able to do so. At first I was able to, but when I really sit down and look at the slip, I was a bit disappointed because the C that I got was my favourite subject. I told myself after that, a C is better than a D. What were you thinking? Give thanks!!!

STPM :

I was very nervous but after that no feeling when I went to take my results.
This result is the lousiest among all of my other results. But this was the time when I was the happiest. Because I know it is what God wants me to get. It was a gift from Him. It may not be the best results in many people's eyes. But God gave me this because He knows what is best for me. As He gives the best to everyone. I chose to see it this way : Hey! I passed every subjectleh... And I got 1A somemore. Thank You, Lord!. I thought I was out of my mind when i so openly showed people my results. I thought I would never do such a thing, but God enabled me too. I have learnt the lesson that He wanted to teach me all these years!!!

Haha! Looking back... I do not know why the 'C's like me so muchlah. Haha... But I believe the 'C's have helped me grow in my character. Hehe... Praise God!

Today was a tiring yet fulfilling day for me...

I went out in the morning to support the SPMers, giving them support, helping them, encouraging them, etc.. After that, i went home and managed to call one of them. Then, I went out again to celebrate with them. Then, I went out again to catch up with somebody else. I came home and got a call from another person. I was supposed to go out at night too. But couldn't make it.

I only experienced one day of how a youth pastor/worker do everyday. But I felt drained emotionally and mentally. It will be worse if somebody doesn't listen and obey you when you really really want to help them so much. Now, I understand how youth pastors and youth workers feel. All they want is to see people doing well in life, character and their walk with God. What they want doesn't do them any good. But the people they care for. It hurts them when the young people are hurt. I know that I still do not fully understand what they feel and what they really do. But this is a small part that I observed and experienced. I thought to myself : Is this what I really want to do in life in the future? I know I have a heart and passion for young people. But this is so tiring... I am just 20 years old, but I already cannot take it. When I am 40 can I? But deep inside me I know these excuses should not kill my passion.

Lord, please lead my steps. I only want to do Your Will.

To all the youth pastors and youth workers out there :
I really appreciate what all of you do. I really respect all of you. May God bless all of you abundantly! May your passion for the young people will never grow cold!

Then this song came to my mind. I prayed and prayed and suddenly 'ting' I knew how to do that question. It was so amazing. An experience that I will never forget in my life.

I am not going to blog on cherishing time we have for studying. Hehehe.... But cherishing the time we have when we still have the time to be in school with teachers and friends that we might not be able to see again.

I was studying and felt bored. I opened my drawer and took out photos that was taken in my secondary school life. It brought me back to those times and i really miss the friends i don't get to see now.

So, I decided to cherish the very few weeks left with my friends in Pre-U. Try to interact with them more. Hope to be able to impact their lives. Rather than ponteng-ing and regret it next time. =). Yay!!

A lot of sad things are happening lately. Deaths and illness I have been hearing a lot. It does make me sad. But God has a purpose of allowing all these to happen. But what exactly is the reason?? I really don't know. Maybe it is a reminder for us to cherish people around us, to give thanks to God for keeping us safe and healthy. Let's cherish the things we have and not take it for granted anymore.

Last time i used to pray for the whole world, that no one will fall ill. I thought it was rather stupid. Haha! Hmm... But I remembered that I didn't really hear about deaths and people falling sick.

Mutation.. What will you do?

Was having Biology class the other day. We were studying on mutation. It was quite fun because I understand what I was learning.. =P.. Then we came to the part about chromosomal mutation. There are two types of chromosome mutation which is change in chromosome number and change in chromosome structure. Then there are terms like aneuploidy, euploidy, non-disjunction, down syndrome,Turner syndrome, Klinefelter syndrome.............. A lot, a lot! Then we learnt about their features and estimated frequency.

Suddenly my friend asked me this question :
What if next time you have a child who is down syndrome? Will you abort it?

I believe it is a tough decision to make.

But what will your answer be??? What will you do???

Have you ever wondered whether you will deny Christ when you face persecution???

Pek Ying was watching a chinese drama. And the bad guy has a lot of ways to torture people. He said he doesn't know how to kill, in fact, he is afraid to kill. But he like torturing people until they tell the truth.

I suddenly got reminded about persecution and asked myself. I still can't give a definite answer. I really don't want to deny Him. But when it comes to that point of time. Will i deny? I really don't know.

Rat Dissection!

Today we had our second rat dissection session. The rats were so so so so soooo small.. But still have to kill it. They were happily playing in the cage a few moments ago. Then suddenly they were motionless. Every part of them. So tiny . So poor thing... Have to die so young.

It wasn't as fun as the first time we dissected a rat. I realised i wasn't as warm blooded compare to last time. Didn't really feel for the rat. Like what Uncle Ven and all the advisers always said, a sin that is committed over and over again, you won't feel the guilt anymore. I am a heartless rat murderer!!!!!!!

My Malay friend( He was the one who killed all the rats) said to me : " Hui Ying, awak tak boleh masuk heaven. Awak ketua gangster. Bunuh tikus. Mula-mula awak baik. Sekarang jahat. Tak boleh masuk heaven. Dosa ah..."

Some of my friends dissected the rat until the head came off. And a lot of them did a lot of cruel thing to the rat. = s

Well.... I guess today is my last day of my rat murdering career. I hope i do not get addicted to it that i have to buy rats and kill them when the addiction comes. Dosa!

Guess what everyone?!!!!! I was so so so so so so so amazed, shocked, happy, glad, etc. I really couldn't believe it! You know what?! Teacher said tomorrow there will be no rat dissection. Can you believe it?!!!! AHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! And do you know what is the reason?? Because the rats are too small to be dissected. What kind of reason can that be? It is definitely God doing something. AHHHH!!!!!! I really can't believe it! He answered my prayer. Thanks to all of you who prayed for me. Now.... Finally, i can go for the Global Day Of Prayer in peace............. Phew.......... I prayed that the rain will stop before going to tuition. And it stopped! Praise God! But I didn't really pray for the rain tp stop after tuition. So it didn't! Haha!!!..... Anyway.. Praise God!

Rat dissection on the first day of April??!!!

I thought to myself that today we will have rat dissection. But my friend didn't think so. After recess... They came running into the class saying they saw a lot of white rats. Haha.. I thought it was rather unfair because we weren't told that we had to do rat dissection today. Oh well...

We enter biology laboratory after recess, we ran to the back to check out the rats. They didn't smell good. Haha!!.. My friend took the rat one by one and put them into the glass bottle. All twelve of them. I wanted to catch one. Hehe.. But i couldn't master enough courage to open the cage and catch them. I kept on saying sorry to them. So poor thing. After that, they put chloroform to kill them. once the cotton wool dabbed with chloroform was thrown into the glass bottle. Al of them rush towards the opening but they couldn't push open the cover. They struggled so much and died eventually.

We took our utensils and then took the rat out of the glass bottle one by one. The chloroform on the fur of the rat melted the polystyrene. So we had to bathe the rat. My rat's eye was open. Only one eye was open. I thought it was alive at first. So scary... Haha... We asked teacher. Teacher said it is already dead. Then we pin its feet and hands with the pin and started cutting its fur, skin and finally we saw the organs. We had to cut open its thorax too.. Ahh!! The feeling.. Hehe.... erm.... Its heart was still beating... Hahaha!!!! After that we had to remove its intestines from the oesophagus to the rectum. But our rat had a weird growth inside. At first teacher thought it was a womb with a baby rat inside because our rat doesn't not have a testis. Teacher wanted to cut open. But after that, she asked me to cut. Hahaha!!!. I cut it and green liquid flowed out. I got a shocked and ran off. The whole class laughed at me. Hahaha!!! Don't know what was that. Don't know whether it is a cancer cell. After all that, we threw the rat into the dustbin. Haha.. the smell... Yucks!

It was a great experience. We will be having it again. Haha!!!... It was really great having Siew Chen as my partner. All of you should try it =P

Just had my first common test. It was really tough. Now I know where I stand in my studies. Have to work even harder. So many things to do... So little time. How?? School again tomorrow... Have to start all over again. But yet.. With so much more commitment. Lord, please grant me the strength!

Many people will be leaving. It is kinda sadlah.. well.. there is always a time for everything. I guess we all have to learn how to cherish one another while we still have them around. People!! Learn to cherish what you have!!! :D And complain less about the people around you. Learn how to appreciate them:)!

First Sports Practice in STK!!

Today is my first day of sports practice in STK. Well... It was a new experience for me. STK isn't as strict as Convent. They finish earlier. I still prefer Convent sports practices=).. Although it was hard work.

But.. I still enjoyed today's practice. Except for having the guys around during sports practices.. Still not very use to it. We had to run round the field only once! And many people were walking.. Hahaha.. After that we rested and ran outside of the school compound. It was fun!!!

All in all, I think sports practice is fun! A brand new experience for me too!

BiOLogY pRoJecT experience...

FINALLY!!!! I am done with my project.. I only slept for two hours last night. Doing biology project during the holidays and even having this assignment is not easy..So much work to do!! And have to work together with other teammates. The time factor is a very big challenge to us. My friend said this is once and a lifetime experience. Well.. I agree with her.. So.. we all tried to have fun too! Although it was challenging and energy consuming. I am glad to say that through this project I got to know my friends(Mee Chee, Sue Ling, and Siew Chen) more. I really get to talk to them a whole lot more than last time. Getting to know them, their background, Character, likes and dislikes. I don't think it is an accident that we have to do this project together. I also learned a lot through this project. I am not so scared of insects now!!! Yay!!!..

I would also like to thank those who have helped me with this project! Thank you so so so much!!!! I really appreciate it!

First Day Of School!!

I know it is a little late posting about the first day of school now. Haha.. But I will still post it anyway:P.

Hmm.. This will be my last year wearing a school uniform and I am supposed to cherish these moments. But I wasn't really excited about school. Thinking of it makes me think of exams, sleepless nights and sacrifices. But all these cannot be the reasons for me not going to school right?

First day of school.. Everyone is already very busy with their Biology project including me. Stress level went up higher when teacher said we have to get it done by Tuesday. Everybody was like Oh No!... Then suddenly we found out that our Maths 1 teacher, Miss Neo is not teaching us anymore!!! My friends and I were like :"WHAT?!!!!!!!!".. Ok.. Stress level even higher and the first day of school was like a disaster to me. One more tuition to go.And after that... Other unpleasant things happened to me.. I thought first day of school was like a DISASTER!!!!!!....

After talking to a few people ( I really thank God for them) I feel better. Then I realised that I had a wrong mindset for everything that happened. Instead of thinking about it as a disaster. It will and can be a blessing instead of a disaster or suffering. All I have to do is just to change my perspective and mindset of my own. And see things through God's perspective. It may be open doors and opportunities that God has given to me to be able to get to know my friends more and reach out to them.

I thank God for revealing this truth to me:)...

School is starting!!!!

School is starting.. Am I excited?? Not really.. In fact I don't really feel like going to school. Imagine all the stress, challenges, failures, problems, etc. that we will be facing once school starts. STPM!!! Ahh!!! STPM!!! I don't want!

But the other side of me wants to start this new year because I want to grow closer to God! And see what He has instored for my life this year. I want to see more friends come to know Him! I want to lead them to Him!! This is my last year in Kluang. I want to give my best. I don't want to regret. I want to make my God proud and glorify His Name! I hope He will be pleased with me. All these are things that I want. What is important is what God wants, right? Well, I am fearful. But God please help me to trust in you even more!!! Thank You, God!!!

Biology Project!!

AHHH!!! I have got to finish my Biology Project!! So busy.. So many things to do yet so little time =(... HELP!!!! Well, I know I have got to trust God! Looks like I am being test in this area of trust again.. Ok! I will do my very best to trust!

For those who have insects at home or by chance find any. Please catch it for me and give it to me.. I need them. Haha.. My new hobby. Keeping insects! My house is like a mini zoo :S

The funny yet scary incident

Hello everybody.. Sorry for not blogging for so long.... I have NOTHING TO BLOG mah.......... But now I have one.

The story begins...

We (Jit, Sze Ying and me), when out to buy pisang goreng and to fetch jie Li Poh from work. Then I was supposed to drive. But then, i am so so so so bad at directions. Jit decided to drive. We stopped further up from the pisang goreng shop and behind a Kancil. Quite a far distance behind it. Ok.. Jit went down to buy the pisang goreng. While he was still walking towards the stall. This Malay lady went in her car( the Kancil). She reverse.. Ok.. And.. While reversing she was accelerating!!!!! Sze Ying and me were like.. Har?? What?? Ahhhh!!!!! BOOM!!! She was shocked and even sticked out her tongue. Sze Ying and me were like laughing at each other.Don't know what to do. Jit was shocked. The lady went out of her car and looked at my car then touched her own car. Her car wasn't very seriously damaged. But mine was like oh no! She said that the accident wasn't serious and wanted to drive off. Jit was like.. NO!.. Then after some talking that they had. She decided to bring us to her shop to talk to her husband. We followed her to her shop. Jit talked to her husband. Then we went to the repair shop. Because they didn't want us make a police report. After that we found out that she doesn't have driving licence!! We took the car to the workshop and talked to the man there. All together it was RM330.00(if I am not mistaken). After that we fetched jie Li Poh.

A 15-minute journey can turn to 1 hour. Hahaha...

What did I learnt from this??
I felt bad to asked the lady to pay but if I just let her off like that what will happened next time. She might even kill herself or kill other innocent people on the road. It is also against the law.

What am i thankful for?
That none of us got hurt. Thank You, Lord! For your protection. :)

Sorry all.. I don't ahve pictures to show how bad the damage of my car was because I don't know how to post them. Hahaha.....

Disciplines Of The Mind : Faith

Read Mark 5 : 35-43

Do we really believe that our fears are based on lies? We must. We have to realize that every threat that comes against us is under God's watchful eye. We must understand that every concern of our lives is easily within His ability to relieve. While our sinful flesh and an aggressive enemy want to keep us preoccupied--even obsessed--with our security and status, God wants us preoccupied--even obsessed--with Him. If we would invest all of our emotions and thoughts into Him, He would manage our lives. We have such a hard time with that. We try to manage ourselves and give Him what's left over. But nothing is ever left over. We're completely spent on other things long before we turn to Him.

Why? Because we believe the threats are real. We believe the future may be dreadful. We believe that the economy may colapse, that the terrorists may win, and that the culture may grow inhospitable. Closer to our hearts, we believe that we may get sick, that we may not be able to pay the phone bill this month, or that our relationships may be easily broken. And as long as we think about these things, we cannot have faith. No one ever gets mountain-moving faith by obsessing about the mountains. They get it by focusing on God.

This takes discipline. It requires an active management of the thought life that perhaps we've never tried. It means that when a bill comes that is too large to pay, we must think about the God who is larger. We cannot lie awake at night wondering how we will pay it. It means that when there is crime in the neighbourhood or terror in the the world, we cannot obsess about the possible threats. We must think about the God who is Sovereign--our Protector, our Refuge, and our Strength.

We think that we are victims of our fear, but we are wrong. We actually cultivate it. We think about the threats to our well-being, never realizing that the threats are lies and our God is true. Will we suffer harm? Perhaps--but not ultimately, not out of His time, and not without a greater purpose. Faith knows that, and it isn't afraid.

Faith tells us of things we have never seen, and cannot come to know by our natural senses.

We all need faith to overcome fear.

Developing Courage To Battle The Giants In Our Lives!!

4. Be who God made you to be.

5. Step into the battle with confidence.

6. Take time to celebrate God's work in our lives.

Everyone needs help in life... we can partner with God who can help us face the Giants in our lives.

Ever since one dismal day in the Garden, humanity has lived in fear. Some of us seem to fear it all: We are full of hang-ups, anxious about every next day and every pending disaster. Others of us seem to fear nothing, but boldness and arrogance are usually masks for deeper insecurities. Deep down, all of us are now, or were once, afraid.

What do we do with our fear? Where can we take it? It is so universal that it has ordered much of the world we live in. Most religions are built on it. Most proposed political and social remedies attempt to relieve it. Our economics are founded on it. We stock up wealth because we fear the future. We create huge governments because we fear chaos. We worship idols because we 're afraid there might be no one to take care of us. We don't want to be some anomaly of life spinning on some random planet with no meaning to it all. Chance scares us. Ever since we severed ourselves from God's fellowship, we've been very, very afraid.

Perhaps our intial fear, this angst that plagues every human who thinks realistically about his or her existence, was entirely legitimate. After all, our sin has offended the one true Sovereign, the Lord of all there is. Where can we relieve our fear when the universe's greatest power is the One we're afraid of?

But God tells us not to be afraid if we've come to Him in repentance and faith. Having accepted His salvation, we can rely on this unalterable truth: All our fears are based on lies. Think about that. Our insecurity? He has made us secure. Our future? He has ordained it with blessing. Our enemies? They are weaker than He is. Our chaos? He is a God of order. What is it within us that contradicts these truths? Faith must convince us of them. Discipline your mind to dwell on truth. Replace your fear with faith.

All fear is bondage.

I thought of sharing this with you all. As I believe that fear is that Giant in our lives that always hinder us from doing a lot of things for God.

Today is SZE WEI's 15th birthday!!! Yay!!!!

Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to Sze Wei... Happy Birthday to you! :)

Well... Since it is her birthday today, I would like to share a little about her. Hmm... Ok.. I got to know her when I was in Form 4 through prefects' camp. I kind of like force her into having this friendship with me.. Hahaha... (Hui Ying is very very scary!!!)

It started off by me asking her whether she bathed or not. hahaha.... such a weird question to start off with. I was her group leader and that time i only know her as Yin Ying's friend and my group member.. A very very shy and cute group member.

After that.... I don't know how it turn out.. She became my very very very very very good friend! I am just so amazed by how God has provided this girl to be my friend. Although we might be very different from each other. But we are just able to connect. She is three years younger than me but i just don't know how we could be such good friends.

We have come a long long way... I just really thank God for placing her in my life and me in her life. To be able to have this chance to be her friend. I really enjoy and treasure this relationship with her! Thank You, God!

One thing she did that touched me a lot is that she even remembered that i had this biology project. I had to catch some insects in order to do this project. And she remembered and she even caught a cricket for me and make sure that the cricket will not die before my experiment. Thank you, Sze Wei!

I really hope that our relationship will get better throughout the years. Although i sometimes think that it will be impossible as we go to different schools now. Well.. I just have to trust it to the Almighty God who provides and make everything possible in His timing!

Happy Birthday Sze Wei! I hope that you will grow closer to God! And that you will continue to love Him no matter what happens! Thank You, my friend.... :)
